Hand finishing with gold leaf

The Chelsea Bindery was established 2000 and is based in central London. They specialise in fine leather bindings, and many of their books are highlighted with morocco inlays and onlays.

They are also justifiably proud of their reputation for their hand-made solander boxes, which are beautiful, clamshell-style preservation boxes used to house and protect important books and manuscripts.

As well as binding, they also handle all aspects of book restoration, conservation and repair.
